He was the fifth RCB batter to get out on a day when in-form batters like Faf (17) and Glenn Maxwell (2) failed to fire. Du Plessis is leading the Orange Cap race, but on Wednesday, he failed to add another half-century to his name.

After Virat’s departure, none of the other RCB batters managed to keep them in the game, and they went down by 21 runs to suffer their fourth defeat in eight matches of the IPL 2023 and their second straight one against KKR in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. They remain static at the fifth position in the IPL 2023 points table, but by ending a losing run of four matches and securing two points, KKR managed to leapfrog five-time winners Mumbai Indians and climb to the No. 7 position in the league table.
