The second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand which got underway in Rawalpindi on April 29, 2023, had to be halted midway by umpire Aleem Dar in what turned out to be a humiliating situation for the home side.
The match saw a brief stoppage after the first over as umpires were seen directing the ground staff as the 30-yard circle was wrongly measured and had to be fixed mid-innings.
As per an update on Geo news website, Pakistani news channel, the pitch was changed after the first over was delivered with inaccurate measurements.
Experienced umpire Aleem Dar, who recently steeped down from the ICC elite panel of umpires, rectified the inaccurate dimension by measuring the distance with steps.

About six minutes of match time was lost in fixing the circle measurement.
However, this was enough for the cricket fans to troll Pakistan cricket for its inadequacies when it comes to situation like this.

In the match being played at the Rawalpindi Stadium, the match pitch was changed but the 30 yard circle was not changed.
