RAWALPINDI: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Taimoor Khan on Tuesday appreciated the traffic police for what he claimed facilitating citizens during Pakistan-UK cricket test match at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, but ignored traders and citizens sufferings.
The CTO praised all the officers and wardens for making the best traffic arrangements for the cricket fans and citizens during the match.
The CTO said during the movement of the teams, the traffic was temporarily diverted to alternative routes. He further said the priority of Rawalpindi Traffic Police has always been to provide the citizens with the best on-ground traffic facilities along with traffic law enforcement.
Similarly, the traffic wardens should perform their duties more diligently in the future.
On the other hand, the traders of Faizabad and Double Road suffered huge losses due to closure of roads and diversion of traffic on alternative routes.
Shops, petrol stations and other businesses located near the cricket stadium and Faizabad were forcibly closed by the district administration till the end of the game.
