South Africa takes on the Netherlands in match 40 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Adelaide on November 6, Sunday. This is the last Super 12 game for both teams. The Proteas lost to Pakistan by 33 runs in their previous game thus ending their unbeaten runs in the tournament. However, they are still placed second on the Group 2 points table with India leading the table with six points.
The Netherlands, on the other hand, made it through to the Super 12s having beaten UAE and Namibia. They lost all their games in this stage barring the one against Zimbabwe. They are already out of the tournament even before their last game against the Proteas. The Dutch lost in the only T20I they played against the Proteas.
“To come through in pressure moments will boost the guys’ confidence. We watched the games that were being played here and decided on the lengths. The variable bounce assisted us. We backed our execution, fortunately, it came off for us. We don’t like that tag (favorites), we’ve come into the tournament as not the favorites. We’ll keep flying under the radar. It’s important we keep improving and that’s exactly what we are doing” said Skipper Temba Bavuma on the side’s winning run so far in the tournament.
