Virat Kohli seemingly took a dig at Lucknow Super Giants after Royal Challengers Bangalore’s win over the home team. RCB had full support from the crowd and fans also chanted for Virat Kohli. The Faf du Plessis-led side successfully defended a target of 127.
Kohli took to Twitter and seemingly took a dig at LSG, who were short on support despite playing at their home. “Amazing win tonight. Love the massive support for us at Lucknow. Thank you to all the fans for supporting us,” Kohli wrote on Twitter.
The match had a pretty tense ending as Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir were involved in a war of words. It looked like Gambhir was unhappy with Kohli over something. It is to be noted that Kohli was upset with Naveen ul Haq and had few words for him towards the end of the innings.
For once, it looked like they batted slowly. But in the end, their partnership proved to be the game-changer. Kohli scored 31 off 30 before being stumped off Ravi Bishnoi while du Plessis hit 44 off 30. The rest of the batsmen struggled and RCB somehow managed to breach the 125-run mark.
LSG never seemed to be in the chase and they continued to lose wickets regularly. They were reeling at 38/5 in 7 overs. In the end, they were bowled out for 108 in 19.5 overs. A win over RCB would have seen LSG finish the day at the top spot. But they have now moved to the third position.
