IPL 2023: IND vs BAN LIVE: Team India all-rounder Washington Sundar is known for his bowling exploits rather than batting in the white ball format. “That’s the role I have been getting in the last few years or so. That’s what that particular position demands, and I have been working quite specifically that way. Whatever positions demand me to do, I have been practising that way. I have been working in those specific manners,” Washington Sundar said ahead of IND BAN 3rd ODI.

Washington Sundar reveals about working on powerhitting
Washington Sundar’s batting usually relies on timing and placement. The youngster had given a glimpse of his power hitting during IPL 2022 season. While playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad he had smashed 14-ball 40 against Rajasthan Royals. However he could only score a total of 101 runs from the 9 matches during the entire season.
In Sundar’s absence, R Ashwin failed to make an impact. He failed to score runs during the T20 World Cup following which he was dropped for the New Zealand series. Sundar who was picked for the tour and he made the chance count. After a length layoff from injuries, Sundar made a grand comeback during the the New Zealand series. He played well in all three matches. He played a valuable knock of 51 off 64 to help Men in Blue post a respectable total during the third ODI. On the eve of the IND vs BAN 3rd ODI Sundar, while addressing the media talked about working on hitting the balls long and hard.

Washington Sundar gets special net session from Rahul Dravid
While India look to avoid whitewash in the ODI series in absence of their key players, the BCCI uploaded a video in which Rahul Dravid was seen giving some batting tips to Washington Sundar. In the video uploaded on social media account, Sundar can be seen playing a shot to a certain delivery. Dravid approaches the player and gives tips on how to tackle spin. In the next delivery the all-rounder can be seen correcting his mistake. He is the video of the net session.
