IPL 2023: Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya revealed that left arm pacer Yash Dayal fell ill after match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where the latter was smashed for five back-to-back sixes in the final over.

“He fell ill and lost 7-8 kg after that match. There was a spread of viral infection during that period and also, due to the pressure he had faced, his condition is presently not good enough to take the field,” said Pandya.
“Someone’s loss is someone’s gain at the end of the day. It is going to take some time before we see him on the field,” Pandya added after GT beat MI on Tuesday.
Titans thumped Mumbai Indians by 55 runs and Pandya was all praise for his team.
“Captaincy is something where I just always bounce my instinct,” Gujarat skipper Hardik Pandya said.
“Today bowling Rashid and Noor we knew we can take off pace against batters like (Cameron) Green and (Tim) David who like pace on the ball.”
Gujarat and Chennai Super Kings share the lead at the halfway stage as both teams have 10 points. Mumbai has six points and is seventh.
