They Didn’t Have To Do It – Scott Styris
Speaking at Jiocinema’s “Legends Lounge”, former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris claimed that CSK looked after their players as well as the players’ families. Styris noted that CSK flew Albie Morkel’s father in business class since he had never been to India before.
“His father had never been to India, so CSK flew him business, not in the contract; they didn’t have to do it,” Styris said.
You Felt Like A Pampered Kid – Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina, famously known as Chinna Thala, revealed how the franchise rewarded bonuses to their players. The CSK legend said the cricketers received a lot of bonuses for their performances and felt special while playing for the franchise.
“They (CSK) give a lot of bonuses, too. You always feel like doing something special for them; you felt like a pampered kid,” Suresh Raina said.
MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in IPL history, leading his franchise to titles in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. Despite a bad season in 2020, MS Dhoni’s CSK proved to everyone that they are the champion team by winning the IPL 2021 title. Dhoni is expected to captain CSK in the next season of the IPL, and most likely it will be his last season.
